AMC Networks Joins NYC Media Lab To Pursue Innovation Projects

New York City, December 1, 2018 — NYC Media Lab is pleased to announce that AMC Networks has joined as a Corporate Member to explore emerging media technologies. In the coming months, AMC Networks will work with NYC Media Lab and its university and civic partners to collaborate on innovation projects and participate in the Lab’s programs on new media and communications technologies.

We’re excited about working with NYC Media Lab and their academic and startup partners, to innovate further on the digital product side of our business and to create unique experiences for our fans.”

Since its launch in 2010 by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, NYC Media Lab has executed dozens of projects with its Corporate Members, resulting in iterative product development and cross-disciplinary collaborations throughout companies. Its current areas of expertise include data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning; virtual, augmented, and mixed reality; and entrepreneurship and business development. AMC Networks will carry this tradition in its Corporate Membership with NYC Media Lab by developing research collaborations with university faculty and students and participating in a series of events and working groups on new technologies and innovation practices.

AMC Networks joins a network of NYC Media Lab Corporate Members that includes: A+E Networks, Audible, Bloomberg LP, Spectrum, Hakuhodo, Havas, Hearst Corporation, NBCUniversal, Publicis Groupe, Verizon, Viacom, Associated Press, Singtel, Tenfore Holdings and Universal Music Group.
